WHEREAS, The General Assembly of the State of New Jersey is pleased to joinYoung Women With Purpose in honoring and saluting Donovan Coney, ahighly esteemed member of his community, who will share his wisdom andinsight as Keynote Speaker during the First Annual Community Awards Gala onAugust 19, 2016, at the Mary McCloud Bethune Center in Jersey City; and,
WHEREAS, Widely renowned as a champion of youth empowerment, Donovan Coney is the respected founder of New Wave, an exemplary organization that has enhanced and uplifted the lives of countless young citizens, and he has made significant contributions as the co-founder and Director of Youth In Christ; and,
WHEREAS, Donovan Coney, who is an illustrious graduate of Middlesex County College and Kean University has further demonstrated an uncommon degree of public-spiritedness as a leader within the First World African Nation, and he has served with distinction as Chair of the Afro-American Cultural Technological Scientific Olympics; and,
WHEREAS, By repeatedly exhibiting his devotion to helping others, Donovan Coney has earned the respect and admiration of all who know him and has set a standard of excellence toward which others might strive; and,
WHEREAS, It is altogether proper and fitting for this House to acknowledge Donovan Coney, and to praise him as an individual of outstanding character and exceptional determination; now, therefore,
